UnionPay QR payment function and Weixin Pay QR code payment function supported by UnionPay^&
When you see UnionPay QR icon or UnionPay App icon at merchants in Hong Kong, mainland China and around the world, you may:
- “Scan to Pay”
- “Show QR”
You can make payment in mainland China by using the UnionPay QR payment feature on Tap & Go’s “Scan to Pay” function to scan Weixin Pay QR code displayed by small-to-medium and large merchants there&.
^Customer in Lite account tier is not eligible for UnionPay QR payment function. You may use this function by upgrading your Tap & Go account tier to Pro account tier. For details, please refer to Tap & Go website for the account upgrade tutorial.
&The UnionPay QR code payment function on Tap & Go does not currently support the scanning of Weixin Pay QR code that is linked to the merchants' individual accounts or is displayed by online stores. Depending on the setting and decisions of the merchants and payment schemes, they may or may not accept the use of Tap & Go UnionPay Cards or the relevant QR features as a means of making payment for goods and/or service and their decisions are beyond Tap & Go’s control and responsibility.
